2025 Reading Wrap

2025 was a good year of reading and I wanted to share my top reads of 2025.

Let start off with what genre I usually read, seeing as this is my first book related post. I typically read fantasy, romanatasy, and historical fiction. According to my fable account fantasy was my top genre of 2025 (which honestly, it usually is). I love the fantasy because it truly does feel like all those reels on instagram with all the beautiful art of warriors and kingdoms. It lets me escape the mundane and adventure through worlds I can only dream of. I am also a spicy book girly, that’s all I will say on that because, IYKYK.

So, lets get into the 18 books I read this years and my thoughts as well as some of my TBR and goals for 2026.

Throne of glass - By Sarah J. Mass

So I was a little late to this party but I showed up. I am just going to group this together because I don’t think I need to get into each book. OMG, I have three books left to finish in the series and I cannot wait. The plot just twists in the right ways, the characters have so much substance, and the setting and world building is (for me) the perfect amount. I am debating the tandem read when I pick it back up again so if you have thoughts on that please comment!

Court Of Shadows - By C.N. Crawford

I really enjoyed this one. It is a series and I haven’t read the rest of it yet but I definitely will! I liked that it was an urban fantasy because sometimes you don’t want to get into all the world building and just want to focus on the plot. It was also the perfect length for a quick read between major series.

Lights Out - By Naves Allen

5 stars. I really liked it, but tbh I like all the dark romances I've read. The scene that everyone talks about was a little lack lustre but still an interesting one (IYKYK). I definitely think it is a pretty good dark romance for someone who is just dipping their toes into the genre.

Phantasma - By Kaylie Smith

I really enjoyed this one, I read it in a day. I really enjoyed the romance in it and the magical aspects. I was invested from beginning to end. I haven’t read the next book in this series either yet (I like to jump around and come back to series) but I will for sure be reading and I just saw that we may be getting a third book?!

One Dark Window - By Rachel Gilling

I was shocked by how much was actually in this book. The magic system and world building as well as the relationships was a lot to fit into what I consider to be a small book. I loved it all. I will be picking up the second book soon (once I read some of the books I got for Christmas).

From Blood and Ash - By Jennifer L. Armentrout

Okay, my book bestie was dying for me to read this for so long and when I finally did I couldn’t actually comprehend what I had been missing. I am so invested in this series now and is actually what I plan on reading next. I will say, I was very confused for a very long time but in typical romantasy fashion everything hit the fan and fell into place within the last 100 pages. But I still need answers and will not stop till I get them all. 10/10 would recommend.

Those were my standout books of 2025. I also read a few small town romances and re-read some of my favourites. Overall it was a good year in books for me and can’t wait to read more in 2026.

My 2026 TBR is stocked full of wrapping up series and starting new ones so here’s a short list of some of the books I definitely want to finish in 2026.

The rest of Throne of Glass

The rest of From Blood and Ash

When The Moon Hatched

Kiss of The Basilisk

Forged In Blood

Dire Bound

and many more… if I have the time.

With some big changes coming for me in 2026 I hope I have the time to read everything I want to. I hope you all had an amazing year in books! if you liked this kind of blog post let me know in the comments and also let me know if there is anything you want me to cover in a future blog.

Until next time!!
